कैसेट

भजन टेप पर आते थे। टेप ढीला हो जाए तो पेंसिल डाल कर घुमाते थे, और गाना बदलने के लिए आगे-पीछे करना पड़ता था — सीधे किसी गाने पर जाना मुमकिन नहीं था। Bhajans came on tape. You wound a loose one back with a pencil, and there was no skipping straight to a song.

एंटीना

तस्वीर हवा से आती थी, तार से नहीं। धुँधली हो जाए तो छत पर या टीवी के ऊपर लगे एंटीना को हिलाना पड़ता था — अक्सर घर का कोई एक ही होता था जिसके हाथ से तस्वीर साफ़ होती थी। The picture arrived through the air. When it turned fuzzy you nudged the aerial — and one person in every house was mysteriously best at it.

श्याम-श्वेत

रंगीन टीवी बाद में आया। उससे पहले सब कुछ काला-सफ़ेद था, और वही सामान्य था। यहाँ B/W बटन दबा कर वैसा ही देख सकते हैं। Colour television came later. Before it, everything looked like this — and that was simply normal. The B/W button brings it back.

टीवी के दरवाज़े

टीवी फ़र्नीचर था। न देखते हों तो लकड़ी के पल्ले बंद कर दिए जाते थे, ताकि धूल न जमे — और कमरा साफ़ लगे। A television was furniture. When nobody was watching, the wooden doors closed over it to keep the dust out.

चैनल का बटन

चैनल गिनती के थे और नंबर से बदलते थे — रिमोट नहीं, उठ कर टीवी तक जाना पड़ता था। यहाँ CH से चैनल बदलिए; हर चैनल एक अलग भजन सूची है। There were only a handful of channels, changed by number — no remote, you got up and walked to the set. Here CH changes channel, and each one is a different playlist.

और त्योहार?

त्योहार तिथि से तय होते हैं, तारीख़ से नहीं — इसीलिए हर साल दिन बदल जाता है। यह साइट पंचांग खुद गिनती है, इसलिए होली या जन्माष्टमी अपने आप आती है। Festivals follow the lunar tithi, not a fixed date, which is why they move every year. This site computes the panchang itself.

टीवी के बटनTHE TELEVISION, PART BY PART

player में 📺 दबाइए और लकड़ी का पुराना टीवी खुल जाता है। उस पर हर बटन वही करता है जो असली टीवी पर करता था। Tap 📺 in the player and a wooden television opens. Every control on it does what it did on the real thing.

भजन POWER CH VOL MENU B/W एंटीना तस्वीर धुँधली हो जाए तो इस पर दबाइए — साफ़ हो जाएगी। जाली सिर्फ़ सजावट — यहाँ कोई बटन नहीं है। POWER टीवी बंद — पर्दा सिमटता है और दरवाज़े बंद हो जाते हैं। CH चैनल — यानी दूसरी भजन सूची। VOL आवाज़ कम-ज़्यादा। MENU पूरी भजन सूची खुलती है। दरवाज़े — टीवी बंद करते ही सामने आ जाते हैं, जैसे असली टीवी पर आते थे। The shutters slide across when the set is switched off, as they did on the real cabinet. पर्दे के चार बटनTHE FOUR SCREEN CONTROLS B/W श्याम-श्वेत रंग हटा दीजिए। फिर दबाइए तो रंग वापस आ जाएगा। Black and white. Press again for colour. Key: B सिनेमा मोड बाक़ी पन्ना छिप जाता है, टीवी बड़ा हो जाता है। Cinema mode — the page hides, the set grows. Keyboard: T. पूरी स्क्रीन पूरी स्क्रीन पर। इसमें भजन सूची नहीं खुलती। Full screen. The playlist cannot open over it. टीवी बंद सिर्फ़ तस्वीर बंद — भजन चलता रहता है। Closes the picture only. The bhajan keeps playing.

The bhajans are not ours. Every recording heard here belongs to its artists, composers and labels. Mandir Radio does not host, store, sell or claim ownership of any recording. Each one plays from its own official source so that the play is counted for, and credited to, the rights holder.
